Educational Testing Service (ETS)

Educational Testing Service (ETS) is a private educational testing and measurement organization. It builds assessments based on research and a focus on quality. ETS develops, administers, and scores over 50 million tests annually in over 180 countries.

They offer research-based assessments to help people demonstrate their proficiency in various areas. ETS assessments can evaluate student performance, assess program effectiveness, and improve curriculum and learning outcomes. Some of their assessments include:

ETS Proficiency Profile: Measures college-level skills in reading, writing, mathematics, critical thinking, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Colleges and universities use this test to evaluate general education outcomes and provide data for accreditation, strategic planning, and more.

ETS Major Field Tests: Measures undergraduate and MBA students’ critical knowledge and understanding in their academic major. These tests are available in multiple disciplines, including business, humanities, social sciences, and STEM. They help evaluate students’ ability to analyze and solve problems, understand relationships, and interpret material from their major field.

The Educational Testing Service (or ETS) is the world’s largest private educational testing and measurement organization. ETS develops various standardized examinations primarily in the United States but also administers tests such as the TOEFL in most nations. Many of the assessments they develop are associated with entry to US tertiary (undergraduate) and quaternary education (graduate) institutions. In addition to test development, they also carry out internationally recognized educational research.
